Researchers in schools post disaster and arts education experts at the University of Auckland partnered with the Principal’s Federation, NZEI, The Sir John Kirwan Foundation and UNESCO NZ to create Te Rito Toi (www.teritotoi.org) an on line resource to help teachers use the arts and wellbeing as the centre of the return to classrooms. Since its launch on April 23 the site has had over 275,000 page views and close to half of all Primary teachers in NZ visiting and working with the materials.
International interest in the resource and a global push for a return to classrooms through the arts saw Te Rito Toi highlighted by UNESCO and the World Alliance of Arts Educators in a webinar held on May 20. Watch the webinar here.
