Research networks

Arts and Health Early Careers Research Network, UK

This is a membership group providing access to an international community of more than 850 members from 30 countries. ECRN hosts events, networking, opportunities and resources. The ECRN member representative in New Zealand is Amber Walls

Ara Taiohi – youthwork networks 

Ara Taiohi is the peak body for youth development and provides an interactive national map of youth networks.

 

Arts Access Aotearoa 

Arts Access Aotearoa advocates for all people in New Zealand to have access to the arts by supporting people who experience barriers to participation or whose access is limited.

 

Arts in Corrections Network and Advisory Service

Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association

ANZACATA is the peak professional membership association supporting the work of arts therapists.

 

The Creative Thinking Project

An online resource all about creativity and why it’s so important to us. It includes insights from creativity experts based in New Zealand and around the world, each sharing perspectives on the value of the creative process in our everyday lives, and as contributors to our health and wellbeing. 

 

Creative Spaces Network

A national network of creative spaces, organisations working with communities across New Zealand, especially for people who experience barriers to participation in the arts. Creative New Zealand

Creative New Zealand encourages, promotes and supports the arts in New Zealand for the benefit of all New Zealanders through funding, capability building, our international programme and advocacy.

 

Changing Minds

Changing Minds is a national not-for-profit organisation operated entirely by those with personal experience of recovery from mental health and/or addiction issues. They work in the broad area of wellbeing services, advocacy, human rights, and health policy.

 

Ōtautahi Creative Spaces

Based in Christchurch, Otautahi Creative Spaces is a place for creativity groups and artist mentoring for artists with experience of mental distress.

 

International networks and resource centres

Australian Centre for Arts and Health 

This is a health promotion charity that leads an arts and health community across Australia, and links with the Asia Pacific, UK and other international networks. ACAH runs an international conference.

 

Institute for Creative Health, Aus

This Australian arts and health agency led the development of the National Arts and Health Framework.  

 

Arts Health Network Canada

This network represents the Canadian arts and health community. It provides free access to online information, research, resources.

 

Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance, UK

This network represents the UK arts, culture, health and wellbeing community. It brings together the National Alliance for Arts, Health and Wellbeing, and the National Alliance for Museums, Health and Wellbeing. It's the umbrella body for arts, culture, health and wellbeing across the UK.

 

Arts and Health Ireland

Arts and Health Ireland represents the arts and health community in Ireland. Its website hosts case studies, contacts, news and views.

 

Art in Healthcare, Scotland

Arts in Healthcare promotes accessibility to visual art to improve and humanise the healthcare environment.

 

Engage, UK

This UK network supports the development of artists and arts educators, arts venues, galleries and museums in the UK and internationally. Engage generate journals, good practice guides and professional development initiatives. It has a strong focus on supporting health and wellbeing, including leadership of Wales Arts for Health Network.

 

Wales Arts for Health Network 

This open network represents arts and health professionals across Wales. 

 

Arts and Health South West, UK

This network provides free access to information, support and advocacy organisation for using creativity to enhance health and wellbeing. The website includes research, resources, blogs, events, and updates on policy and practice in the UK.

 

North West Arts and Health Network, UK

This network of practitioners and organisation working across the North West of England is supported by Manchester Metropolitan University.

 

London Arts in Health Forum

This London-wide free membership organisation works to develop the role of culture in wellbeing across London and nationally. It offers events, newsletter, training and an advisory service.

 

Long Live Arts

This European partnership initiative works to solidify cultural participation by older people.

 

National Creative Youth Development Partnership, US

This is a national partnership working to strengthen and build the visibility of arts organisations . It works within Positive Youth Development principles across the US.  

 

National Organisation for Arts Health, US

This membership organisation represents the arts and health field in the US. It has an online hub of resources although most are restricted to paying members only.

 

National Centre for Creative Ageing, US

This national centre is dedicated to creative ageing. It is a comprehensive resource hub providing free access to research and resources.

 

Americans for the Arts

This national fee-paying membership organisation provides leadership, advocacy, resources and networking for organisations and individuals who cultivate the arts in  the United States.

 

National Initiative for Arts and Health in the Military

This US-based initiative aims to advance the arts in healthcare, healing and wellbeing for military service members, veterans, their families and caregivers.
